About Timepieces specialise in unique pieces and limited editions from independent watch brands.

Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, About Timepieces began simply as a creative writing (weekend hobby) blog site, by Gavin McKenzie, specialising in hands on reviews of limited editions and unique pieces from independent brands.  

After spending more and more time in the independent watch community, it became apparent that many of these manufacturers did not have many outlets to promote their pieces and may not have had any exposure to many international markets; and so the commercial journey began.

We want to share our passion and connections, to help you explore what is available from the independent watch brands and artisan watchmakers.  Our ultimate goal is to connect these independent watch brands with new customers and supporters & to help watch lovers realise their horological dreams.

We own and collect independent watches too, so we’re in this journey with you.

We also know that sometimes it is difficult to access the exact watch that you want, so please use us as a conduit and warm entry point to gain access directly to the manufacturers. If you have an idea that you don’t see on the website, it doesn’t mean it can’t be done, so just ask and we will try to help make it happen.

Please note that we only deal with new watch sales and do not buy or sell preowned watches.
